My passion is helping beginners and developing players discover that chess doesn't have to be intimidating. Every student learns differently, which is why each lesson is personalized to match individual goals, learning styles, and experience levels. I strive to make every lesson engaging, rewarding, and fun — while helping students develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, confidence, and resilience, both on and off the chessboard.

As a 7-Time New Mexico State Women's Chess Champion, FIDE-rated player, and educator with more than 20 years of teaching experience, I combine competitive chess expertise with a patient, supportive teaching approach. My goal isn't simply to create stronger chess players — it's to help students become confident thinkers who enjoy learning, embrace challenges, and celebrate their progress.
